IndieVillage Back Alley Cinema Joins P.S. Kensington

This summer, Pedestrian Sunday in Kensington Market will feature guerilla cinema showcasing independent film from around the world. The films will be screened in the alleys and lane ways of the Market on the last Sunday of every month, around 7pm.

Indie Village is a company dedicated to the expansion and global exchange of independent arts, with a specific emphasis on indie film to audiences who are beyond traditional distribution. Following in the tradition of P.S. Kensington, IndieVillage believes that in many cultures around the world - and even in our own backyard - some of the best stories are the ones shared between kids playing on the street, teenagers hanging out on corner, men and women in the marketplace and old men sitting in front of coffee shops. IndieVillage's aim is to bring stories back onto the street through its back alley film screenings, and use them as an way to revive some of the neglected spaces in the urban core and promote the development of livable cities.

Under the evening sky people from all walks of life will meet together to hear stories as told by indie filmmakers from Canada and around the world.
