Dance lessons in the streets, tapas on the street, street theatre, opening procession with ribbon cutting, and music, music, music...

DAY 1

To launch the festivities we'll be having a short procession at 12:30 along Baldwin from Kensington to Augusta. This will be followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially declare the streets open to pedestrians only! Bollo Kelen will provide musical accompaniment and will then be playing at Oxford and Augusta until 3:30pm

So, the following list is just a sample of who and what will be on in the market for our first Pedestrian Sunday - July 4th

  • DJ Medecin Man spins at Restaurant on Nassau, 11-3pm

  • International Folk Dancing Ensemble 1:15 -2:15pm on Kensington

  • Argentine Tango Classes from 1:30-2:30pm la palette

  • Joanna Moon (mix of flamenco, Arab pop with a Quebec edge) plays at The Hungary Thai, 2 & 4pm

  • Les Singes Bleu – (French Jazz Quintet) plays from 2:30-5pm

  • Circle Sing – (Singing for Children) from 3-5pm

  • Sonic Bevi play at Oxford and Augusta at 3:30pm

  • Michael J and The New Kings - play a secret rooftop location at Augusta & Baldwin, 4:30pm

  • Mr. Something Something play at 5pm

  • The Toronto Mega City Swing Band – (18 piece 30’s Swing Jazz) plays from 5-7pm

  • Samba Elegua - (15 to 30 piece Brazilian Samba Drum Group) plays from 7-9pm

  • Suite on Sunday (vocal music from Baroque Chamber to the Beatles)

  • The Last Temptation has Rock & Roll bands all day

  • Psychoactiv followed by The BFG's & guests play at Planet Kensington

  • Roaming buskers

  • Various DJ’s throughout the market out front of Paradise Bound, The Fish Shack and Dean Horn, all day

  • And much, much more

For those who want to hang out a little longer - the north end of Augusta will be open until 10pm!
