Rules for the 2005 P.S. Kensington Chili Taste-off

Where/When: 2 – 4pm, South Augusta

The Kensington Chili Taste-off is a competition to select the best chili cook in

all of Kensington Market. While there is no cash prize, the winners will

have bragging rights and possibly a nifty trophy.

Categories:

There are 3 types of Chili that may be entered into competition:

1) ‘Texas” style chili, consisting only of meat (any kind), Tomatoes,

peppers, vegetables and spices. No beans, filler or pasta

2) “Traditional” Chili, containing meat (any kind), tomatoes, peppers,

vegetables, spices and beans (any kind) or pasta.

3) “Vegetarian” Chili, containing vegetables, spices, beans or pasta. No

meat but meat substitutes are allowed.

You may enter in as many categories as you wish.

• We encourage entries by teams, restaurants and/or individuals.
• We suggest that the chili ingredients be purchased in the Kensington Market.
• Each entry shall consist of at least 2 quarts/litres of chili to a max of 6 qts/l.
• Each entry shall be at serving temperature and in a sealed container.
• Each entry shall be delivered to the Chili Taste-off location by 1:45 PM.

Entrants will be required to sample their entries.

We will provide: bowls, spoons and bread.

The chili that garners the greatest value of donations will be the winner.
